Whispers of Spirit is a conscious creation offering light and integrity to the spiritual community through a publication, an online portal, and events. We choose to align with the community through integrity, respect, and most importantly, Love. Whispers of
Spirit is evolving with a new paradigm, where we intuitively live to our fullest potential and create joy and beauty in each moment.
By connecting with and supporting others with this same intent, we magnetize a transformational grid of partnership, abundance, and divinity.
A History
We were delighted to announce that the first issue of the Whispers of Spirit publication, to enlighten and inspire, debuted on June 21st, 2004, under the cover organization of InSpirit. As of June 1, 2005, we let go of the name InSpirit (which you will see on early publications), so we can fully embody Whispers of Spirit!
We, as co-founders of Jennifer Salness and Laura Stellmach, had been hearing the “whispers” for a few months to produce a publication in print, to expand the network of individuals and businesses which supported holistic, spiritual, and metaphysical living. Our intent for Whispers of Spirit was to provide a publication of resources and information for the community, created in love, integrity. When we work in divine partnership with Spirit, miracles happen. We hope to reach as many people as possible with our words that will teach, support and encourage, and embrace our life experiences to share with others. As more people awaken to a spiritual path, we provide a network of resources for people to find their soul family and friends and remember they are not alone. We choose to support holistic, spiritual, and metaphysical practitioners and businesses, and will offer affordable advertising space for your businesses and events.
The Whispers of Spirit publication includes regular columns by local lightworkers and writers. Topics include Astrology, Spiritual Growth, Ascension, Indigo Kids, Crystals, Living from the Heart, Intuition, and of course, Whispers from Spirit, as well as MUCH more. We are grateful for those of you who have committed to sharing your words and wisdom, but there are also opportunities for YOU to share your wisdom. We welcome articles, channeling's, "how-to's" of intuitive or psychic development, inspirational life lessons, healing modality information, and basically whatever it is you wish to share with the community.
The Whispers of Spirit Expo was created in 2005, following a number of intuitive "hits" from a few people and some divine connections. Not really knowing what to expect, we just put our heart into it, following our intuition, and were astounded to see over 300 people show up on the day of the Expo! Attendance doubled in 2006, and we are thrilled to keep organizing this Annual Expo with high quality and ethical businesses and practitioners who support the vision of Whispers of Spirit. We consistently get feedback about the high energy and integrity of the day, where everyone has respect for each other, connections of the Light are made, laughter and fun are abundant, and people feel like they grow and expand spiritually.
We are confident that when we work together in partnership with each other and Spirit, we can make a difference.

Jennifer Salness is the co-creator of Whispers of Spirit. Her passion is to offer a community of lightworkers and healers based in Integrity, Respect, Love, and with guidance from Spirit. Jennifer's gifts at creating are given form through the publication, the website, and other marketing materials, as well as holding the heart of Whispers of Spirit close and sharing it with the community at events.
Jennifer is owner of Crystalline Light (formerly Earthstar Co-Creations), an online, at Expo's, and by appointment business offering high quality, intentional gifts such as crystals, stones, energetic mists, hand-crafted jewelry, and more. Jennifer is also a Reiki Master Teacher, Flower Essence Practitioner, and Crystal Intuitive, offering healing sessions and readings, Amethyst BioMat sessions, and classes in spiritual and holistic topics at various locations around the Midwest.
Joan Turck (formerly Malarkey), owner of Divine Awakenings, is an amazing networker and organizational wizard for all of our events, and gifts Whispers of Spirit with her connecting the right people with the right resources. Having a background in sales and networking is now brought forward to create the grid that is Whispers of Spirit.
Joan's personal business Divine Awakenings produces events for practitioners and businesses who offer health and wellness products and services. Joan’s goal is to bring more awareness and exposure to the general public by highlighting alternative, holistic and spiritual products. Joan also utilizes her video email business (video email, video instant messaging and live video broadcasting) in all aspects of her business.
Laura Stellmach was co-founder of Whispers of Spirit with Jennifer in 2004 and as of August 2007 released her position as an active member.
